The Assyrian Students’ Association USYD is an organisation that aims to enrich the student experience through the preservation of the Assyrian people’s unique and ancient culture.

To meet this goal, we seek to promote social engagements between Assyrian and non-Assyrian students, particularly those who are interested in or would like to learn more about the Assyrian people and their indigenous culture and heritage.

We have many events focused on promoting Assyrian culture.

Do you love reading? Because if you do, BookSoc might just be the club and home for you to meet other fellow BookLovers, who you can finally express your love to for this or that book/author/genre, in an actual two or many-sided conversation.

We hold monthly book club discussions, and by using Facebook polling, you will be able to have a say in choosing which novel you’d like to discuss for the month! It doesn’t matter if you do Commerce or Arts, we welcome bookworms, belle-lettrists and bibliophiles of any description as long as they have an interest in sharing and discussing books!

From Dostoevsky and Woolf to Pynchon and Foster Wallace, from classic literature to young adult escapist novels, BookSoc offers no shortage of what we can talk about over snacks and drinks!

The Chinese Psychology Students Society aims to build a platform in support of Chinese psychology students in the university through promoting information sharing, creating more opportunities and establishing connections among Chinese psychology students or students planning to develop a psychology-related career in China. The society would focus on making online social media posts to deliver psychology-related knowledge, academic studying tips for USYD psychology major and minor, and potential employment and research opportunities both in Australia and in China. Hello! Welcome to the USYD Social Football (Soccer) Society. We are excited to organize weekly 11-a-side casual soccer matches at the Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre, taking place every Sunday from 7 pm – 10 pm, except during exam weeks (please note that the location might vary based on availability).

You have the flexibility to sign up as an individual player with your friends or even as a full team! The participation fee is $15 per player for each game, and this includes a complimentary bottle of water.

Sydney University Radiology Society (SURS) aims to foster excellence in clinical radiology teaching, bringing informative and challenging cases to the forefront of medical education.

We plan to offer:

· 1-3 online educational events per year where radiologists present cases from a range of modalities such as plain radiographs, CTs, MRIs, ultrasound images

· 1-2 online careers events per year where radiologists discuss the pathways to becoming a radiologist, their day-to-day work, and other advice for medical students inclined to the field

· 0-1 face-to-face events per year that could be a hands-on tutorial to x-ray reading, ultrasound scanning, interventional radiology, or otherwise

· Fortnightly publication of interesting (deidentified) imaging cases compiled by students or radiologists on SURS social media

Our society is a cooperative run by students for students and is located in the Wentworth building for customers to purchase bulk foods. Members are able to purchase discounted organic fruit and vege boxes! We are looking to run online events for our members this semester!

We are a very beginner friendly society (90%+ of our members are beginners who knew nothing about the game before they joined) and we cater for everyone who might be interested in a strategic board game. PhilSoc is the official student-run society for the Department of Philosophy at USYD. Since our establishment in 1975, PhilSoc has been an integral part of the incredible philosophical education and experience on offer at USYD. Whether your interests lie in practical or more abstract philosophy, our weekly events will have something for you.

Events are judgment free, all-inclusive and entirely open ended! If you can communicate in a respectful and discerning manner then you are welcome at PhilSoc!

PhilSoc holds events weekly, with in-person 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 being our bread-and-butter. Discussions typically orbit around an exciting topic with a dozen or so questions to catalyse discussion.

PhilSoc hosts weekly discussions in the McRae Seminar Room (S418), from 18:00-21:00, on Tuesdays. Which will have a variety of topics from week to week. PhilSoc also provides pizza to our members at our weekly events.

China Development Society (CDS) is a not-for-profit society, initiated and independently operated by students at the University of Sydney (USYD).

As a student organisation that serves students, especially international students, we hope to inspire peers to integrate into the campus through activities, reflect deeply, and give back to society.

Our events are based on four dimensions:
(1) Academic Events: China Talks and the annual China Development Forum to discuss academic topics related to China’s development.
(2) Chinese Cultural Events: We had 3 performances Secret Love for the Peach Blossom Spring, which was the first student-led Chinese drama at the University of Sydney.
(3) Voluntary Teaching Program: At the end of each year, we have voluntary teaching program, the “Wild Hope” project. A total of 100 volunteers from USYD are sent to rural areas in China to support education.
(4) Mentorship Program: Every semester, we host events to share experiences for new students, including mentoring programs.

Our committee consists of more than 100 USYD students, with 400 ordinary members actively attending our events.
