A fun society for all students located at the Camden campus. We are all about social and mental wellbeing while studying in a more rural setting and we run various events throughout the year.

Camden Farms Student Society is a free society run by 3rd year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students. CFSS encourages all students who are based at or have classes at the Camden campus to join, no matter what they are studying. However anybody is more than welcome to join!

CFSS aims to organise and promote social activities for students studying at the Camden campus and recognises the importance of social and mental wellbeing while studying and living in a more rural setting.

Some of the major events we run include the Camden Weekender and the DVM annual nude charity calendar.

We also try to run many smaller, less formal events throughout the year including wellbeing nights, movie nights, trivia, and animal related events.

Founded in 1919, the Conservatorium Students’ Association (CSA) is the student union by and for students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music; it’s the sole body dedicated to student culture and representation at the Con.

The principal administrative organ of the Association is the Secretariat, comprised of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. They set the vision of the Association for the year, and ensure the various portfolia can do their job without hiccups, including managing the Treasury, keeping governance documentation, and registers of membership. They also sit on a variety of Conservatorium committees, including the School Board and Education Committee, where they raise concerns regarding the quality and experience of study in music at the University.

The Executive Council is the principal executive organ of the Association, overseeing all of the initiatives directly organised by the Association. There are then 6 Executive Departments and 9 Representative Offices, which each have various responsibilities to manage the various social events, wellbeing initiatives, merchandise, marketing, publications, partnerships, concerts, competitions, and more. All the executive directors and representative officers meet in the ExCouncil to report on the work of their portfolio, and provide feedback on the work of others to ensure it best supports the students at the Con.

Each area of study has their own Department Society within the CSA, led by their department president, who, alongside all the other department presidents and representative officers, compose the Representative Council (the "legislative organ" of the Association). They come together for discussion on the governance of the Association, as well as any concerns from their portfolio about studying at the Con, be it how assessments are handled, timetabling issues, diversity of concert series, classes on offer, environmental impact, and more. The RepCouncil can then decide whether to raise these issues at the regular Student-Staff Liaison Committee meetings, other Conservatorium committees, or bring to larger bodies in the University, such as the Academic Board or the Students' Representative Council.

Alongside creating and supporting the student culture of the Con, the CSA is the main line of contact between students and staff at the Conservatorium. All students at the Con are automatically represented by us, but becoming a member grants you voting rights in elections, primary access to events, cheaper tickets and merchandise, helps with our funding, and just generally helps us help you.

As the official provider of Sydney Con merch, we sell hoodies, t-shirts, keep-cups, and more. All funds go directly back to the work of the Association, meaning it all goes into paying for your student experience.

The annual Conservatorium gala at the end of the year, the Con Ball, is the largest event organised by the Association. A celebration of all our accomplishments for the year, it is when we award life memberships and other annual awards such as the Executive of the Year and the Member of the Year.

We also run start- and end-of-semester parties to meet all your peers, and generally just have a good time! You can also join us at the post-Greenway drinks after each of the major concerts of the Con, usually down at the Paragon Hotel (where we get student discounts).

The Con is made up of an incredibly diverse group of students from all sorts of communities and of all types of identities. The different Representative Offices and Department Societies organise regular social events, such as picnics and band nights, for their group. The Association then organises other larger events for everyone, like trivia nights, start- and end-of-semester parties, pub crawls, and more.

Cut Cable offers a collaborative space for Students with any level of tech experience to build creative tools for artists or use existing tech to create Art!

whether you prefer coding at the keyboard or getting hands on with circuitry and soldering irons, come and build with us!

Get amongst other creative coders and use existing tools to create live-coded visual art and music.

Or build creative tools for artists yourself using software, hardware or both!
(We’ll use Arduinos, Raspberry Pis and more)

Those who are unfamiliar with soldering or coding can attend our introductory workshops!

Experienced members can attend our ‘Creator workshops’ where each attendee uses materials provided by the society to build a creative tool and make art with it.

Welcome to the Sydney University History Society (HISSOC), the society for both current USYD History students, and all those history enthusiasts in the wider USYD student community.

In 2024 we supported around 400 members with trivia nights, historical pub crawls, movie nights and scavenger hunts. We also collaborated with the History Department in the development of a brand new first year mentoring program, and are always eager to hear your ideas for new events and opportunities.

The Postgraduate Research Students' Society (PReSS) is a student-run society for postgraduate students at the Northern (Arabanoo) Precinct / Northern Clinical School. Established in 1994, the society has helped students across the Northern (Arabanoo) Precinct form social and professional connections, through regular social and networking events typically held at our satellite campus – the Kolling Institute – in the Northern Clinical School. Formally represented by the North Shore Local Health District, the society is now proud to be officially recognised under the University of Sydney Union, allowing us to expand and help strengthen the social and professional environment of our HDR community.

We’ve been around since 1994, big and small. Join us to be a part of the history of the Kolling Institute and the Northern Clinical School / Northern (Arabanoo) Precinct. While ‘postgraduate’ and ‘student’ is in our name, we have come to learn the value of sharing the experience and comradery between everyone, from Honours Students to Professors and Professional Staff, everyone is welcome to share in the love and help spread their experience and wins through engaging with the social and academic life that we thrive to embrace and lift in the community.

This is a proposal for the establishment of Indian Law Society at The University of Sydney Law School. The students from the countries often struggle to settle in and have little to no support. This society aims to support the students in three ways:

Networking:
Indian Students often struggle to fit in and find it difficult to make connections, especially as international students. Students, being away from home often struggle with their sense of belonging and identity. This society would organize networking events to ensure that students with common ethnic background have the chance to make connections and friends. It will also attempt to engage students from other nationality and make the experience of studying at Sydney Law School more enriching.

Support:
Education system in India varies in several aspects from the education system in Australia. It takes a while for students to get accustomed to their academic studies in Sydney. This society would provide students with academic support and help them navigate through their law degree.

Apart from this, society will also provide support in other ways. For instance, given the rental crisis in Australia, it becomes difficult for students to find accommodation in Sydney. This might be even more difficult for students who do not have any family or acquaintances in Sydney.

The society will aim to provide support in terms of navigating their career progression. For instance, students who are established in their professional careers can provide mentoring to interested students.

Research/Information:
A newsletter will be published from time to time. It will include information about the latest news and notifications relevant to the discipline of law. For example, the recent development of agreements between India and Australia.

Moreover, it will include the achievements of students and their interviews stating their preparation and process for the same. This will guide prospective as well as current students. The newsletter will also include any articles or submissions by the students.

SUAVE also oversees competition teams like the well-known USYD Design Build Fly Team (USYD DBF) as well as Project FASTR. The USYD DBF team develops remote-controlled UAVs to compete in the AIAA Design Build Fly competition. The Sydney University Pharmacy Association (SUPA) is a society for all students studying a Bachelor or Masters of Pharmacy at the Sydney Pharmacy School in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney, Australia.

S.H. Stroud first founded SUPA under the name “Sydney University Pharmaceutical Association” in 1920. It was officially renamed to the current title “Sydney University Pharmacy Association” in 1963, with the late Les Cashen AM as President. Back then, SUPA was established with a vision to unite and inspire students to step outside the boundaries of academic life and to excel.

That vision still continues today, where we proudly provide students with academic, educational, and networking opportunites which are designed to support their growth and success. Furthermore, SUPA prides itself in providing access to pharmacist-specific services, advice and representation as well as organising fun social events for all our pharmacy student members.

SUPA is the largest branch of and a founding member of the National Australian Pharmacy Students' Association (NAPSA). Thus, by joining SUPA, you will automatically becoming an Affiliate (member) of NAPSA.

USYD Forex Investment Association is Sydney’s leading student club for students passionate about global markets and quantitative finance. Our mission is to bridge the gap for like-minded students interested in Alternative Investments, Quant Trading and Foreign Exchange (FX) Investments. We are beginner-friendly and also working to bring more variety and levels for our yogis!

All you need to do is bring a yoga mat 🙂

Our standard membership is $5 annually where you can sign up to our social events for free and yoga classes at very discounted rates.

Usyd Yoga Soc was established back in 2021 and has grown to become a large society attracting over 500 members per year. Last year, we’ve hosted workshops, beach yoga, and a yoga retreat, bringing a variety of experiences to our members.
