The Assyrian Students’ Association USYD is an organisation that aims to enrich the student experience through the preservation of the Assyrian people’s unique and ancient culture.

To meet this goal, we seek to promote social engagements between Assyrian and non-Assyrian students, particularly those who are interested in or would like to learn more about the Assyrian people and their indigenous culture and heritage.

We have many events focused on promoting Assyrian culture.

The Chinese Psychology Students Society aims to build a platform in support of Chinese psychology students in the university through promoting information sharing, creating more opportunities and establishing connections among Chinese psychology students or students planning to develop a psychology-related career in China. Hello! Welcome to the USYD Social Football (Soccer) Society. We are excited to organize weekly 11-a-side casual soccer matches at the Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre, taking place every Sunday from 7 pm – 10 pm, except during exam weeks (please note that the location might vary based on availability).

You have the flexibility to sign up as an individual player with your friends or even as a full team! The participation fee is $15 per player for each game, and this includes a complimentary bottle of water.

Capitalism isn’t working: another world is possible!

Solidarity is a socialist group. Our student club is especially active in the campaign to free Palestine, but we are also involved in the climate action campaign, the campaign for refugee rights, and in every struggle against the injustice and inequality of capitalism. We hold regular student meetings and Marxist reading groups. The Sydney branch of Solidarity also meets every Thursday at 6.30pm, Brown Street Community Hall, Newtown.

Solidarity is a socialist group with branches across Australia. We are opposed to the madness of capitalism and committed to fighting for change.

We’re committed to building social movements and the wider left, through throwing ourselves into struggles for social justice, against racism and to strengthen rank-and-file unionism. We are taking the first steps towards building an organisation that can help lead the fight for an alternative system based on mass democratic planning, in the interests of human need not profit.

This is a proposal for the establishment of Indian Law Society at The University of Sydney Law School. The students from the countries often struggle to settle in and have little to no support. This society aims to support the students in three ways:

Networking:
Indian Students often struggle to fit in and find it difficult to make connections, especially as international students. Students, being away from home often struggle with their sense of belonging and identity. This society would organize networking events to ensure that students with common ethnic background have the chance to make connections and friends. It will also attempt to engage students from other nationality and make the experience of studying at Sydney Law School more enriching.

Support:
Education system in India varies in several aspects from the education system in Australia. It takes a while for students to get accustomed to their academic studies in Sydney. This society would provide students with academic support and help them navigate through their law degree.

Apart from this, society will also provide support in other ways. For instance, given the rental crisis in Australia, it becomes difficult for students to find accommodation in Sydney. This might be even more difficult for students who do not have any family or acquaintances in Sydney.

The society will aim to provide support in terms of navigating their career progression. For instance, students who are established in their professional careers can provide mentoring to interested students.

Research/Information:
A newsletter will be published from time to time. It will include information about the latest news and notifications relevant to the discipline of law. For example, the recent development of agreements between India and Australia.

Moreover, it will include the achievements of students and their interviews stating their preparation and process for the same. This will guide prospective as well as current students. The newsletter will also include any articles or submissions by the students.

Sydney University Radiology Society (SURS) aims to foster excellence in clinical radiology teaching, bringing informative and challenging cases to the forefront of medical education.

We plan to offer:

· 1-3 online educational events per year where radiologists present cases from a range of modalities such as plain radiographs, CTs, MRIs, ultrasound images

· 1-2 online careers events per year where radiologists discuss the pathways to becoming a radiologist, their day-to-day work, and other advice for medical students inclined to the field

· 0-1 face-to-face events per year that could be a hands-on tutorial to x-ray reading, ultrasound scanning, interventional radiology, or otherwise

· Fortnightly publication of interesting (deidentified) imaging cases compiled by students or radiologists on SURS social media

Our society is a cooperative run by students for students and is located in the Wentworth building for customers to purchase bulk foods. Members are able to purchase discounted organic fruit and vege boxes! We are looking to run online events for our members this semester!

Since our establishment in 1975, PhilSoc has been an integral part of the incredible philosophical education and experience on offer at USYD. PhilSoc hosts weekly discussions in the McRae Seminar Room (S418), from 18:00-21:00, on Tuesdays. Which will have a variety of topics from week to week. PhilSoc also provides pizza to our members at our weekly events.

China Development Society (CDS) is a not-for-profit society, initiated and independently operated by students at the University of Sydney (USYD).

As a student organisation that serves students, especially international students, we hope to inspire peers to integrate into the campus through activities, reflect deeply, and give back to society.

Our events are based on four dimensions:
(1) Academic Events: China Talks and the annual China Development Forum to discuss academic topics related to China’s development.
(2) Chinese Cultural Events: We had 3 performances Secret Love for the Peach Blossom Spring, which was the first student-led Chinese drama at the University of Sydney.
(3) Voluntary Teaching Program: At the end of each year, we have voluntary teaching program, the “Wild Hope” project. A total of 100 volunteers from USYD are sent to rural areas in China to support education.
(4) Mentorship Program: Every semester, we host events to share experiences for new students, including mentoring programs.

Our committee consists of more than 100 USYD students, with 400 ordinary members actively attending our events.
